2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

JETAA will be covering food on the day, so make sure you come by to enjoy a nice meal with your fellow JETAA members!
At our AGMs, we invite new committee members to officially join the council. If you’re interested in helping to promote the JET Programme and making a bunch of new friends, join us! Positions available are as follows:
* President
The President leads and creates the agenda for our monthly meetings. They lead conversations on what activities the committee would like to run throughout the year, as well as be the point of contact for anything related to the JET programme and JETAA activities. They are also required to speak during formal JET programme related events at the Consul General of Japan’s residence. The president is one of the members to be named on our accounts.
Note: To run for President, you are required to serve at least one full term on executive committee
* Vice-President
The VP will support the President in their duties and assumes leadership in their absence. The VP is another member to be named on our accounts.
* Treasurer
The Treasurer is responsible for managing the financial affairs. The Treasurer is our main point of contact regarding our budget and any funds we receive from CLAIR. They are the main holder of the JETAA credit card and will have direct contact with CLAIR in regards to our budget and GIA.
* Secretary
The Secretary is the custodian of JETAA’s records and is responsible for documenting meetings and managing our Google Drive to ensure our files are organised. Secretary is also required to keep accurate records of decisions and actions.
* Webmaster
The Webmaster will have full access to our website platforms. The Webmaster is responsible for maintaining and updating JETAA’s online presence. This includes managing our website and ensuring content accuracy. The Webmaster will update the website with current JET Programme and JETAA events information.
* Social Media Officer
The Social Media Officer is responsible for developing and implementing JETAA’s social media. This includes managing accounts, creating engaging content and promoting events and initiatives. This also includes taking photos at events.
* JET Programme Officer
The JET Programme Officer serves as a liaison between JETAA and the current JET Programme participants. This role involves communications with new and current JETs, sending out updated quarterly emails to current JETs and keeping records of current JETs/returning JETs.
* South Australian Representative
The South Australian Representative will be the main point of contact between SA and the President. The SA Rep will be managing the state of South Australia.
* Tasmanian Representative
The Tasmania Representative will be the main point of contact between Tasmania and the President. The Tasmania Rep will be managing the state of Tasmania.
* GenCom (general committee)
The GenCom are committee members who wish to participate casually in JETAA activities. They can volunteer to organise and/or assist with JETAA events and activities, and help vote on decisions made during meetings.
